Curing a Broken Heart

Who else is finally ready for some broken heart relief? If you are anything like our readers and clients living in the Northeast United States....you are probably suffering through a ridiculously cold winter weekend, right? It's true...it's literally 0 degrees where I am today, and nothing makes me want to crave the comfort of another warm body quite as much as the cold does! You're probably the same way....right?

If you are quietly pining over an ex - a boyfriend or girlfriend who has simply and silently disappeared from your life, the pain can be intense. The disappointment devastating. And the let down endless.

But I want you to know something........you are BIGGER than your breakup! So many of us identify ourselves solely with the relationships we have with others, and when those relationships end, we find the despair devastating. But you can turn this all around...and make it happen in a hurry. I find it fascinating that the only way any of us ever truly recognizes are real worth as individuals is having to fight it out alone for a while.  And while it's painful - I'd be lying to tell you otherwise, you will save yourself the ignominious fate of having to beg for another chance, or humiliate yourself with unrequited requests for love that are simply not returned.

You know what I want to you to start doing? Re-frame the pain. See it from a different perspective. Recognize that all great breakthroughs come from places of reflection, of personal perspective and quite frankly....from pain. I know it sounds harsh to say, but the only way you are going to soar on through to the other side is to embrace your heartbreak. Feel it. Hold it and understand that it will pass. And resolve that we are never given more than we can truly handle.....or eventually teach well to others!
